Summer OOTD 3 | Kylee Maree

Today's outfit was classy-casual. I had a few things to do around the house so I wanted to be comfortable. I also need to head out a bit later and get a few things done so I wanted to look presentable! This is the outfit I came up with to tick all those boxes.

My top is from Target. It's the perfect staple to any wardrobe as it can be dressed up or dressed down. I love the boat neckline and the slightly longer sleeves on this top. I find it to be very classy. There's not much more to say about this top other than I love love love it!

These pants are another item that can be dressed up or down. Simply by wearing a good quality singlet top and a blazer, this could easily turn into a work outfit or a romantic dinner outfit. My most favourite part about these pants is that they are super comfortable (although I should have gone 1 size up) and they have pockets. Mum's love pockets!

My 'thongs' as we call them in Australia (flip flops) are from Kmart. The rope detail give them texture while the studs and silver piping give them a glam affect. I'm aware they are not gold like my accessories, but I thought I would try mixing up my silver and gold today!

These gorgeous earrings were a present so unfortunately, I don't know where they're from.

This bracelet from Kmart was from the set (I think) that I was wearing in my last OOTD. I'm loving the high gloss. Pieces like these are so versatile. It could work along side with a bunch of other bracelets or just on its own to give a more subtle 'put together' look.

Have a lovely day :)

Summer OOTD 2 | Kylee Maree

Today was one of the 5% of hot days that we've had this summer (summer is Dec-Feb in Australia). I decided to celebrate this with a very lightweight, casual outfit and a topnot.

This sheer singlet is one of my favourite wardrobe staples. It literally goes with anything and can be dressed up or dressed down. And the best part - its from Kmart! It was so so inexpensive, I think I'm going to go back to get more.

The shorts were another steal from Target at a very affordable price. I'm not to good with colour or patterns, so I feel like I've ticked both boxes with these. Once again they're made of flowy lightweight material. They also have a very forgiving and comfortable elastic waist and pockets! Every one loves pockets, especially us mums.

My shoes were purchased 2 years ago at a sale for around $10 from Novo. They were such an awesome find, that I also got them in a sand colour. They are the perfect 'dressier' sandal with their gold features.

Which brings me to my gold jewellery! I've always been a silver girl but ever since my Nan passed away and I inherited her gold diamond eternity ring, I've toyed with the idea of wearing gold more often. Seeing as I didn't own anything else gold, I didn't wear my gold accent sandals very often. So I ducked into good ol' Kmart (Again!) and found myself these really cute bracelets. One tip when purchasing gold costume jewellery, make sure it all matches. There is dirty looking gold, yellow gold, shiny gold, more orange gold, matte gold, the list goes on. I picked up a few pieces I thought looked closer to real gold only to realised that they were way off and my skin tone drowned out the beauty of the pieces. I then realised the very yellow looking gold was actually much closer to real gold and complimented my skin.

The first bracelet has a snake pattern on it, making it more of a matte colour. This actually came in a set and was ultra cheap! It is very rough to get on though, I have large-ish hands and it was quite painful!

The second bracelet has a really cool textured effect and I love love love it. The perfect statement piece.

I wear my watch most days, but of course, its silver. So I decided instead of spending a tonne of money on a real gold watch, I would trial this $15 watch from Kmart. I really like it, but I now have a strange itchy wrist where the buckle sat. I'm not entirely sure that it was the watch. I have had random contact dermatitis before from using bleach, which I always use and never have a problem. And also, a fun fact, sometimes my skin turns black from wearing silver. Not very often though. Its probably only happened like 4 times in my life. So I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt and try it again once I stop itching. But so far, I'm liking gold!

I hope you enjoyed this OOTD. You can watch the YouTube version of this if you'd like. Ill post the video below. Have a lovely day!

I Was At Rock Bottom - Not Anymore Baby!

A million subscribers on YouTube? Tell her she's dreaming.

A couple years back I was quite comfortable. A mother, a fiance, a farmer's housewife. No aspirations of my own, not that there is anything wrong with that at all but I know myself. I'm a big dreamer. I wanted to be a lawyer, an electrician, a police officer. Mum and dad, remember all of my crazy dreams haha? I was pretty disappointed in myself that I always gave up. But maybe that's because it wasn't right.

Eventually I met a man, settled down, and I was pretty happy and comfortable, almost on cruise control with very little turbulence. Until that ended and life went to shit. I mean ground collapsing, suck me into the earth and bury me where I'd stay alive for ever in this claustrophobic hole with no outside contact, kinda shit. ROCK BOTTOM.

What the fuck have I done with all my time? Started and stopped every dream I've ever had. Loved and then LOST. And now I have 3 very individual crazy kids (whom I love to bits) to raise on the smallest of finances and let's not forget, I just got dumped.

Image may contain: text

But from there something beautiful happened. I believed in myself. I fought my way out of that rut (it took a bloody long time and a lot of pairs of ears), and I began to look to my children who never signed up for this. My poor kids. I was going to make it up to them.

Mother hood is a job I will never give up on.

I've spent a year on this goal, teaching them to cook, reading to them, trying to be more 'available and in the moment'. And now I want to teach them about their dreams.

We live in a house that doesn't have enough bedrooms. We don't make enough money to enjoy our weekend. And that holiday I was saving for just went on repair to our car. Sorry kids another year.

I'm not staying here. I am grateful for everything we have but I want to show my kids the world. I want to make amazing memories with them at Disney land. I want them to see how people live in the 3rd world and let them have the opportunity to help out.

And then there's my dream. My career, my hobby. My passion. YouTube. It's not about popularity, it's about reaching out to people. For now the videos are basic, just me, my friends and family having fun. But I have huge goals for the future. To reach out to teens and offer support. I don't want to say too much but basically it's everything I love, rolled into one. Talking, counseling, being there for people, computers and technology. I FINALLY after 29 years, found my dream job.

Some of you may have rolled your eyes and thought, what a stupid thing to be doing with your time. I hope this has shed some light for you. I will make my babies proud, I will make my parents proud, and I will be there for all you beautiful people of the world.

Rock bottom changed me.... For the better.

Summer OOTD 1 | Kylee Maree

I'm not really sure what's going on with the weather here in Melbourne, Australia. It's crazy! I feel like we're having all the seasons in one month. I live quite close to the beach and we have some really nice restaurants around so today's outfit has been inspired by that.

I tried to go with day time dressy.

I feel as though this top is slightly too small as my bust has grown, I would prefer it a little bit baggier. The top is just from good ol' Kmart in a size AU 8.

The necklace, I purchased for the bargain price of $2 at Colette. I generally never buy costume jewelry at full price and Colette always has amazing sales. I think it's a great statement piece for a plain outfit.

I purchased this skirt quite a while ago when I was pregnant with James. It fit my bump just perfectly, and then shrunk back into shape afterward. I love those types of clothing! Once again its just from Kmart in a size AU 12.

Join me again next Tuesday for another OOTD!

Have a lovely day xx

A day in the life

Caitlin (10) and I woke up this morning at 6:30am. I ate my breakfast in peace and got myself dressed, all by 7am. James (2) got up so I got him dressed then I caught up on my fb for a few minute. Every morning I have to push Caitlin to hurry up with each task she has to do because if I leave it, she will spend 3 unknowing hours doing her hair. So every 10 minutes I remind her that there is 30 mins untill we leave, then 20, and so on.

7:30am - I wake up Mary (4), my child who could sleep for 14 hours straight. I start dressing her and while doing so, reminding Caitlin that she has 5 mins until we leave, she starts yelling at me that she has no food and ‘oh well thanks, guess I’ll starve then’. She had told me about an hour earlier that there wasn’t anything for lunch so I said make a salad sandwich, take an apple, a muslie bar and cut up some carrot and have dip and carrot. So I ask her what she had made in that hour. She hand selected a muslie bar. So naturally while then trying to tackle James to the ground to get his shoes on, I began to yell at her. ‘Stop having a go at me for not getting you food when your too bloody lazy to make any!!’ I then told her what there was to eat again, I found a muffin for her to take, I went to hand said muffin to her and then I realised that I’m talking to thin air! She had walked out and sat in the car back somewhere between ‘fine Ill starve’ and ‘stop being lazy’. I threw the muffin at the couch, stormed outside and said FINE YOU CAN STARVE!

7:40am – Getting the kids into the car is tedious. It’s really not that bad but for me, the door is opened, I sit down, I turn the key, change the gear and I’m gone. 30 second job. Anything longer annoys me. The worst is when I’m waiting for a car park and the person digs around for their keys, slowly unloads their shopping, checks their mirrors, adjusts their hair, checks Facebook, takes a phone call and then reverses out of the spot at a snail’s pace. Mary generally stands at the door in the way of her brother who needs to get in first (only one of my back doors unlocks, I need to get it fixed), and she’s somewhere in lala land because she’s woken up 10 minutes beforehand. I asked her to move, her brother jumped in, over the centre console, and into my seat. Mary always climbs in in a way that can only be described as someone with two broken hips trying to climb a stair case. It takes FOREVER. She gets buckled in, James laughs at me, I yell at James and eventually he sits in his car seat. Now I get into the front seat, lean across the console and try to strap James in while he argues with me that he wants to do it himself. Which also takes FOREVER.

7:45am - We sat in silence until I realise I forgot my phone! ‘CRAP’. What if day care needs me? What if the school needs me? No one has my work number because I’ve only just started and honestly, when do I have time to call everyone and give them my new emergency contact? Too bad. I have just enough time to do the drop offs and get to work. James usually kicks up a huge stink when I leave him and I usually hang out for a little to wait till their settled but today, I just didn’t want to. So I didn’t. And he didn’t even care. Winning!!! More car silence until we got to school. I said goodbye to try to break the ice but I was frozen over when she just shut the door. What really annoyed me was that I had given her $20 just before the whole, I’m a crap mum who starves her children incident happened, so that after school, she could go buy a matching top with her best friend. I really wanted to run after her screaming and take it back but I figured her starving for the day was punishment enough.  And I didn’t want to embarrass myself. And ain’t nobody got time for that.

There was an incident with a truck, a ditch and a lot of dirt on the road so I had to wait in traffic. Thank goodness I didn’t go back for my phone! But the whole drive I just had a bad feeling. Like maybe I should try to call the school and daycare from the work phone to give them my work number.

8:30am - WORK – waitress, barista, all round good person. (Didn’t call the school or daycare)

2:55pm – Roughly 1.5 hours before I finish work, I get a phone call on the work phone. ‘I have Caitlin here in sick bay throwing up. We’ve been trying to contact you. We have contacted your second emergency contact and they gave us this number.’  Clearly my other emergency contact doesn’t want to look after my throwing up kid! Like gee it’s just vomit which may be contagious but you’ll be right lol. I had 20 mins until school finishes and my work is 30 mins away. But I’m super mum.

3:20pm (5 mins late) – Me: ‘How are you feeling babe?’, Caitlin: ‘Yeah fine now, can I go to my friends?’ Me: ‘Are you serious?’. Lucky for her, she started to feel poo again as soon as we got in the car.

4pm - Food shopping, pick up kids. I get told by James ‘I want daddy’ (daily occurrence), then he folded his arms and I had to bribe him with icypoles to leave the day care with me. The kids had a bath while I cleaned the kitchen and then James and I cooked dinner together. He’s really into cooking so I try to involve him as much as possible. Having my 2 year old standing at the stove stirring strips of beef is probably a very frightening picture, but he’s been doing it for ages now. He’s basically a chef. We had souvlaki style wraps so the kids built their own, but then James refused to eat anything else except cucumber. And Caitlin was feeling much worse so she didn’t eat at all. The poor thing wanted cuddles but I was like ‘sorry mate, I don’t want what you got. Have a wet face washer and a bucket instead’.

6:30pm - I got a request from James for cordial so I started to pour, then James began to scream and cry. He had changed his mind. He wanted milk. Mary wanted cordial. Caitlin was still yelling out to me to lay down with her. For the next hour I just floated around. A bit of YouTube here, a bit of cleaning there.

7:30pm – BED TIME! Mary asked me if its bedtime yet. That kid loves her sleep haha. They’d been naked since bath time because it was super hot here today so they went and choose their own pyjamas and I dressed them. I popped them into bed and in doing so, discovered that James had pulled everything out of his drawers when choosing his pyjamas. Yey, now I have something to do in the morning. Mary has been having night terrors the past few nights so she started crying saying she was scared. Mind you, it was still daylight because its daylight savings time. I decided tonight I would go the tough love approach, I told her she would be ok and I just walked out. James ran out, turned on the hall light and went back to bed. It’s the end of the week now so they went straight to sleep. The start of the week is a different story! They get 4 days off day care and that’s enough time to fully recharge the batteries. By Monday they jump on beds, kick walls, giggle ect ect. But tonight, I get blissful peace, followed by a moan from Caitlin every now and again.

32 week pregnancy update

This week has been one of the hottest weeks I can remember and I've had to go without aircon ;( It's been a constant 42-45c (107-113f) all week but I must say I coped pretty well considering I baby sat 2 out of the 5 hot days and had to have the dogs inside the whole time (out of the full sun).

Plus there was the cakes and cupcakes I had to make for the baby shower, the last minute shopping and we steam cleaned the house twice!! Although I drank a tonne of water, I had to stop every half an hour because it really took its toll on me.

But on a happier note, we had our baby shower yesterday (I'm writing this on Sunday) and it was such a fantastic day! I usually plan these big parties and I end up stressed out over making the food and setting myself decorating tasks that I know I could never complete. And then of course the morning of my parties I end up with 10 text msgs off people cancelling for one reason or another and then half the people show. So basically most of my parties are epic fails! This time I was incredibly organised and very calm. I decided to take short cuts where I could, packet mix cake mixed with my own ingredients to make one very tasty cake, pre making what I could days before, set the main table up the day before ect. And then a large amount of people I didn't expect to show up, did! Most of them I hadn't seen in years so it was so fun to catch up! Ill tell you all about it in my next blog post plus a present haul of all the amazing presents we received.

Week: 32 weeks

Pregnancy symptoms: I've had a boob-spurt in the last few days. Suddenly my maternity bras from my last pregnancy don't fit! I'm having quite intense braxton hicks now. They take my breath away and almost feel like the start of labour. Apparently they get worse with each pregnancy :(

Moody/happy: I've been a little sooky this week but I put that down to the heat and all the things that have been on my mind. Although I have 8 weeks to go, I'm starting to want to have everything done like wash all jelly beans stuff, pack my hospital bags and clean up Mjs car seat to turn back into an infant seat. I think my impatience is stressing me out a little. I hope it goes away soon!! Tom bought me these beautiful flowers today to cheer me up!!! :)

Total weight gain: 73.3kgs again this week. I guess my weight gain has stopped for now.

New stuff: So I didn't know what to title this, obviously lol, but I did some shopping today and would like to share! Most of the stuff I layby'd as I don't need it just yet. I got a black 3/4 sleeved feeding top as the one I currently own is all stretched. I plan on using this after the baby is born. I got 2 tops that have a deep vneck to make it easy for breast feeding but they go loose under the breast so I can wear them as soon as bubs is born and not have to worry about left over belly flab! I got a 3 pack of singlet suits as I'm not the biggest fan of singlets but these are expensive compared to singlets so I'm doing half and half. I got all the minis for the hospital, a Johnson's pack for bubs and deodorant, shampoo, conditioner mouth wash and body wash for Tom and I. I got a toiletry bag for the hospital. I got a 3 pack of muslin swaddles and 3 pack of stretchy swaddles. It will be the end of summer, start of autumn here in Australia so although I like stretchy swaddles, I have muslin ones as well so he won't overheat if its a warm day. I got an extra towel as I only have one for him so far. I got some orthodontic dummies just incase. And I think that's about it!!!

Looking forward to: It's Tom's birthday in 2 weekends and I'm looking forward to spoiling him! I'm not sure what were doing over the weekend but I think he will be very pleased with his presents :)

31 week pregnancy update!!!!

Week: 31 weeks :)

Pregnancy symptoms: If you watch my YouTube channel or read last weeks post, you will know that Tom and I are juicing! This has given me tonnes of energy :) I've been running around like a mad hatter cleaning and organising my house! But as of yesterday I got a bit slack and only had the one in the arvo and haven't had one yet today. I notice such a big difference. I'm struggling to keep my eyes open!! My indigestion has eased up since eating very healthy too. I pretty much don't have it anymore at all!!!  I've been trying hard to stick to my facial routine but once again, the last 2 days have been slack so I've only been cleansing my face once a day, but I'm still seeing an improvement. Otherwise I just feel a little uncomfortable as jelly bean makes his way up under my ribs but I think he dropped a little to make room to grow some more!

Moody/happy: Still pretty normal! I don't feel hormonal at all :)

Total weight gain: 73.7kgs-74kgs (my scales are being stupid and giving me either one of these each time I step on and off!)

Miss anything: I miss my energy! I wish I had energy to just get everything done without having to juice ect. It seems as though all my chores are dragging out so much! And it's getting quite warm too so I miss having a nice sip on hot days like these :(

Looking forward to: I've just received some of my baby shower stuff in the mail from eBay! And I bought a few items from kmart and woolworths so I'm getting really excited about my shower. To the point that I'm mad cleaning my house and yard lol. I get a bit perfectionist sometimes when I have the energy! Can't wait :) !!
